MIDI+ is data derived from the MuseData encoding of music. MIDI+ data is given in the Standard MIDI File format which is a binary format.
MIDI+ files are optimized for listening and teaching applications. They include realization of ornaments and repeats, observation of ritardandos, and General MIDI "orchestrations" that convey the best available sense of the sound complex originally intended. This may include assignments that are markedly different from those given in the score.
